No matter what you have going on in your life, nursing school is going to be pretty demanding. The classes tend to be pretty challenging, there are lots of labs and clinical studies that must be done and there are also plenty of exams to study for. Speak with your employer. A lot of people in nursing school also have full or part-time jobs. Being that you’re a single mom, we’re pretty sure that you’re one of them. If that is the case, speak with your employer about your schedule outside of work. Although they will still expect you to do your job while you’re on the clock, oftentimes that extra bit of information will help them to be a bit more supportive should you arrive late on occasion or you need to take a day off to get ready for a class.
Eat right and exercise. You can’t afford to not feel well while you’re in nursing school. So, make sure that you eat right and exercise on a regular basis. Foods like fruit, whole grains and fish will give you the energy that you need. And by working out 3-4 times per week, you’ll be able to boost your immune system, increase your levels of concentration and also keep your stress levels down.
Get some reliable childcare.
